Published Thursday, July 30, 2009
Patricia Bradberry of Alabaster is one of 11 finalists to compete in the 27th-annual Ms. Alabama Nursing Home Pageant Aug. 3 at 2 p.m. at The Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham.
Bradberry, who now holds the title of Ms. Shelby Ridge Health and Rehab, was chosen as a finalist among 67 contestants statewide. Preliminary judging was held Wednesday in Montgomery. Contestants were judged on their outlook on life and their involvement in their respective nursing homes.
Prior to the pageant, Bradberry and other finalists will be interviewed by a judge panel that includes Miss Alabama Liz Cochran of Helena, Ms. Senior Alabama Sally Beth Vick and Alabama Junior Miss Kathryn Tully.
“The Ms. Alabama Nursing Home Pageant is a celebration of our nursing home residents. The ladies represent different backgrounds, ages and life experiences,” said Louis Cottrell, executive director of the Alabama Nursing Home Association. “The 67 ladies that will participate are to be commended because they are wonderful ambassadors for their individual nursing home and Alabama’s long-term care profession.”
