Shelby County Board of Education minutes for June 27, 2009

The Shelby County Board of Education met on June 15, 2009, at 1:06 p.m. at the Central Office in Columbiana. The following Board members were present: Dr. Lee Doebler, Mr. Steve Martin, Ms. Peg Hill and Mrs. Anne Glass. Dr. David Nichols was absent.

Mr. Brent Copes gave the Invocation.

Mr. Rickey Darby led the Pledge of Allegiance.

A motion was made by Mrs. Glass, seconded by Mr. Martin, and unanimously approved the Board meeting agenda as presented.

The President opened the floor for public comments concerning agenda items. There were none.

Upon written recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Mrs. Glass, seconded by Mr. Martin and unanimously approved Lewis Brooks as Middle School Coordinator, effective July 1, 2009.

At 1:13 p.m. Dr. Doebler stated the Board would meet for a closed transfer hearing. At 2:01 the Board went into executive session. At 2:18 p.m. the Board reconvened the public meeting.

Upon recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Mrs. Glass, seconded by Mr. Martin and unanimously approved the employee transfer.

The next scheduled board meeting will be on Thursday June 25, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Office in Columbiana.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:18 p.m.
